Funny Story

We have a family Bible study that we attend every other week here. There are about six families that attend and included in that is around 17 kids. No, I am not exaggerating. Well, this week, Phil took Kaylee, by himself, because I was sick. Well, about the time they get to prayer time, one of the other dads is giving Phil the signal to come and hurry. Phil ran to the back only to find Kaylee and her best bud, Micah, up to their elbows cleaning the toilet. Yep, they found the scrub brush and wanted to make sure the area was clean. Kaylee's coat was soaked, and her stockings, and her shoes were missing. For a fleeting moment, Phil thought she might have flushed them, but they were found in another room. He said he wasn't sure he was going to be taking Kaylee by himself again.

Play Time

Kaylee couldn't decide which toy she wanted to play with so she grabbed as many as she could and drug them all over the house. I think she was exhausted from hauling such a big load everywhere.

Beef Stroganoff

Kaylee really enjoyed the beef stroganoff I made the other night. In fact, I think more of it was on her face, clothes, and surrounding area than actually made it to her mouth!

Just Hanging

Ellie doesn't want to miss a thing. She hates laying around. Instead she wants to be propped up so she can see everything. It's the first thing we try if she is crying and usually stops things pretty quickly. She is soooo social. Just like her father:)

Playing Around

Kaylee and I were just playing around with the camera one day. She likes to look at herself once the picture is taken. Some of her faces were pretty funny.

Rough Start

Yesterday started off pretty rough. Ellie was up most of the night. I think she decided that sleep isn't really all that important. When I finally got out of bed I had a temp of 102. Needless to say I wasn't feeling my best. I proceed to feed Ellie at which moment she throws up all over me and our freshly laundered sheets. I'm trying to clean up, yelling for Phil, and searching for my glasses on the nightstand all at the same time. I guess I was a little preoccupied with all the vomit and knocked my glasses in the floor. When Phil picked them up, of coarse, they were broken! All who know me understand how devastating this is because I am seriously blind. First thing I call the eye doctor to get an appointment, but she is currently out of the country (just my luck) and unavailable until next week. The same afternoon we have an appointment at the Embassy to get Ellie"s passport. We all have to be present for this. So, we crowd into a cab and head off (I still have a temp and have my broken glasses balanced precariously on my nose). Thankfully everything went smoothly there. When we get home I have to start dinner cause in the midst of the madness I forgot we were having friends. I can honestly say that I was relieved when the day finally ended.

More Egg Hunt

Egg Hunt

Kaylee participated in two egg hunts this weekend. She hated the grass and wouldn't pick up any eggs hidden in it without extreme encouragement. In fact, she would try to move it with her shoe. We got a good laugh out of that. She may not have been too keen about hunting the eggs, but man did she like the candy! While the older kids were re-hiding the eggs, she and a friend raided all of their candy bags. It seemed like every time we turned around we were prying Reese's Cups from her hand. She's allergic to peanuts! All in all it really was a great weekend. Ellie enjoyed the festivities so much that she actually slept through the majority of them!

Kaylee and Ellie

Here are some recent pics of Kaylee and Ellie. Phil is really proud of the black and white photo of Ellie. I have to admit that it is a really beautiful picture of really beautiful little girl.

Kaylee and Micah Playing

These are just some random shots of Kaylee an Micah playing. They really are just too cute together.

Egg Dye

One of Kaylee's friends Micah came over to dye eggs. They had a blast! Even though they thought the dye was juice. These two are really cute and love to play together. It's just fun to sit back and watch them.

More Pics from Easter Sunday

Sorry we weren't dressed up for the day. We went to our Easter service on Friday and Kaylee and Ellie had their pretty little dresses on then. We'll be sure to get some pictures of those the next time they wear them. Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend.

Easter Baskets

So, we decided to go ahead and let the girls open their Easter Baskets this week instead of next week. We only have 45 days left until we return to the States and thought Kaylee should be able to play with her toys. Ellie obviously, didn't understand, but I mean seriously, what do you include in an Easter Basket for a 6 week old. Kaylee had a blast with her toys and we are handing out the candy at a very slow rate. It was a wonderful day of rest and reflection on what our amazing God has done for us.

Easter

Happy Easter to everyone in the States!! This is always a wonderful time of year. We do not have any pictures to post yet. Easter in this part of the world is celebrated next week, so all of the activities and such are next weekend. Hopefully, we will have something to post then. It's kind of nice we get to celebrate two Easters and two Christmases. It seems like all we do is party around here. Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday!

Potty Time

Okay, so we were sitting in our living room the other evening and Kaylee comes up to Phil and says, "Daddy, I potty." Phil looks at her and asks if she needs to use the potty. She replies with a firm yes. So, we take her to the bathroom and she proceeds to pee-pee in the potty. We were floored. We have not even thought about potty training yet. We didn't want to start until we got back to the states this summer because of all the transition. Well, I guess she is obviously ready so we, and we'll be starting sooner rather than later. Is potty training supposed to be that easy?

Finally Updated

Okay, so we don't want to hear anymore complaints about updating the blog for at least another month, maybe two. I think a lot of ground has been covered and hope that everyone enjoys the pictures.

The Girls

Kaylee is a great big sister to little Ellie. She loves hugging her and kissing her. She is sure to let mommy know when Ellie is crying. Ellie is a great baby too. She rarely cries unless she is hungry and sleeps really well at night. Right now I think we have pretty much the two most perfect little girls in the world.
